Trip Details
Day 1 Arrive in Petersburg. We'll spend the first day exploring in town followed by an evening meeting with the guides in the hotel lobby to plan our adventure.

Day 2 After loading personal gear, we will board float planes or a motor boat for our ride over to Big Creek Camp. The afternoon will be spent teaching kayaking skills and going for a short paddle.

Days 3-4 The next two days will be spent kayaking in the Big Creek area, a primary summer feeding area for humpback whales, stellar sea lions and numerous other marine mammals. The land supports bear, deer, moose, wolf and birds, including the bald eagle. Miles of beach and old growth forest make it an explorer's dream.

Day 5 The morning is open for a short hike before float planes arrive to take us southeast 55 miles to Le Conte Glacier Bay camp. The flight will take us along the Horn Cliffs, Thomas Bay and Portage Bay. We will take a short paddle in the afternoon to explore the amazing offshore world of icebergs.

Days 6-7 From our base camp, we will spend the next two days exploring the wonders of the twelve mile-long fjord. Icebergs ranging in size from a baseball to a baseball park mark the waters we paddle. Waterfalls cascade down sheer granite walls making the paddling spectacular.

Day 8 After a morning at leisure float planes or power boats will return us to Petersburg. Our farewell dinner will be at a local restaurant where we can share stories of our travels.

Day 9 It's good-bye to new friends and off for your next adventure!
