Trip
Details
- Our
starting point at Heart's Desire Beach is connected
via a 1 mile loop trail to Indian Beach where
we can meet family or friends that are not kayaking.
- This
is a leisurely paddle designed to accomodate
the younger paddlers in the group.
- Heart's
Desire is approximately nine miles from the
mouth of Tomales Bay.
- One
child can go in a double with an adult.

Sea Trek has the necessary equipment including
lifejackets and lightweight paddles for children.

Tomales
Bay Trivia:

Tomales Bay is approximately 15 miles long and one
mile wide.
- The
average depth is 15 feet, with the deepest spot approximately
60 feet deep.
- The
west side of Tomales Bay is part of the Point Reyes
National Seashore and is covered by granite cliffs
and pine forests. The eastern side of Tomales Bay
is bordered by Hwy 1.
- Coastal
Miwoks stayed on Tomales Bay as a summer retreat in
houses built of reeds. They spent summers hunting,
fishing and gathering clams, oysters and mussels.

| Signing
up with Sea Trek: Please make trip reservations early
as they fill up quickly. All Sea Trek events are subject
to cancellation due to weather and lack of paddlers. If
Sea Trek cancels at any time, or if you cancel one week
or more prior to your trip, there is no charge. If you
cancel within a week of your trip, you will be charged
the full amount. There is no refund, however you may have
someone else take your place if you choose. We are happy
to reschedule you for another trip this year, for an additional
$25 per person. Sorry, there is no refund or credit for
no shows. |
