We'll paddle along the remote shoreline of Tomales
Bay exploring estuaries for birds and curious
seals.

Heart's Desire Beach is approximately nine miles
from the mouth of Tomales Bay, far from strong
currents and big waves.

After your trip check in with Sea Trek's guides
for suggestions of great afternoon hikes or
restaurants to compliment your excursion to
Tomales Bay.

Tomales
Bay Fascinating Facts:
-
Tomales Bay is approximately 15 miles long and one
mile wide.
-
The average depth of the bay is 15 feet, but its deepest
point is about 60 feet down.

The west side of Tomales Bay is part of the Point
Reyes National Seashore and is covered by granite
cliffs and pine forests. The eastern side of Tomales
Bay is bordered by Hwy 1. The towns of Marshall and
Tomales are the social center for local ranchers,
oyster farmers, and passersby.

Coastal Miwok people stayed on Tomales Bay as a summer
retreat in houses built of reeds while they hunted,
fished, and gathered clams, oysters, and mussels.

| Signing
up with Sea Trek: Please make trip reservations early
as they fill up quickly. All Sea Trek events are subject
to cancellation due to weather and lack of paddlers. If
Sea Trek cancels at any time, or if you cancel one week
or more prior to your trip, there is no charge. If you
cancel within a week of your trip, you will be charged
the full amount. There is no refund, However you may have
someone else take your place if you choose. We are happy
to reschedule you for another trip this year, for an additional
$25 per person. Sorry, there is no refund or credit for
no shows. |
