Sea Trek offers programs in a number of locations to suit your needs.
Consider these parameters when choosing a site:

1)Transportation
--How will the students be arriving and returning: bus, parents, etc
Sausalito offers the most transportation opportunities. It's a short drive from the city, is accessible via public transportation and is only a 1 mile walk from the ferry.

Angel Island is accessible via ferry from San Francisco and Tiburon. Ferry schedules can be limiting and you may have to arrange your day around what is available. An option for older groups is to paddle from Sausalito to Angel Island and then paddle back or take a ferry to SF or Tiburon and be picked up by personal vehicles, van or a bus.

Tomales Bay is the longest drive (about 90-120 min) from SF. There is no public transportation available and on weekends parking is crowded. Sea Trek can arrange for private van or bus transportation for your group at an additional charge. A 15 passenger van usually runs between $165-$200 per van and buses are about $650 for a minimum 3-hour rental and can carry about 45 people.

Baja--Flights to Baja are available Alaska Airlines from Los Angeles to Loreto where our program is based out of. Round trip flights from Los Angeles to Loreto range from $300-$500.

2) Length of Program--How long of a trip do you want for your students?
Sausalito and Angel Island--Programs can occur in Sausalito and Angel Island from 3 hours to 5 days. From our beach in Sausalito we can explore the diverse shoreline of Sausalito with its harbor seal haul-out sites and eclectic houseboat community or paddle to Angel Island for the day or even a week. Camping is available at privative sites with running water and flush toilets.

Tomales Bay--Tomales Bay is the best location in the Bay Area for multi-day expeditions. It is also a great place for a day trip if you would like your students to get away from their urban surroundings. Programs from as short as 3 hours to as long as 8 days are possible.

Baja--Baja is a kayaker's paradise and the islands of Carmen and Danzante are rich with all the pieces that make this paradise ideal for a transformative trip. Programs are generally 8 days (from Saturday to the following Saturday). This works well with local airlines and provides for a relaxing itinerary.

3) What kind of wilderness experience are you looking for?
The Bay Area offers unique opportunities to escape into our wilderness next door, though some areas are much more secluded than others.

The shoreline of Sausalito offers ample opportunity to see and experience wildlife, possibly more so than other areas that have less of an urban feel. The docks house an incredible array of intertidal creatures, provide resting habitat for sea birds and Sausalito's healthy harbor seal population. It also has numerous marinas, boat traffic and roads nearby.
The Point Reyes Peninsula encompases two of the most remarkable wilderness paddling destinations: Tomales Bay and Drakes Estero. These 2 paddling areas offer opportunities to get that far away from it all feeling. If your students are looking to get in touch with the natural world these destinations are ideal.
For longer trips Baja and Alaska are the most remote locations you could hope for that are supported with great food, tents and all your kayaking needs.
