How many passengers can your boats accommodate?

Duffy Boat: 8 to 12 passengers depending on the boat size rented (including babies and children).

Do I need a boating license or driving license?

No – we provide a boating safety training course to all renters to ensure safe operation on the water. Additionally, we have a full-time safety and support boat on the water to monitor and assist if needed.

Is there any food available to bring aboard the boats?

There sure is! We offer an array of party platters that are perfect for multi-hour cruise on Richardson Bay. Take a look of what we have to offer:

Is outside food and drink allowed on the boat

There sure is! We offer an array of party platters that are perfect for multi-hour cruise on Richardson Bay. Take a look of what we have to offer:

Feel free to bring any food or drink of your choosing. No glass bottles or drinking glasses but wine bottles are permitted. We also partner with a local chef to provide amazing local grazing platters, oysters and other delicious options. during the booking process you can see the optional add-ons. Order 48 hours in advance and we will have the food in your boat ready for you at the time of your rental. If you plan to consume alcohol on the boat, please select a designated driver in advance to keep everyone safe on the water and on your ride home. Please drink responsibly.

Are there any boat specific rules or laws we need to know?

We will review our safety/boat operations during the orientation briefing but feel free to also review the California Boaters ABC’s guide to Boating Laws & Safety.

How do we get in / out of the marina?

No worries here – we take you out of the marina while showing you how to operate the boat and then see you back in! We aim for a zero stress experience so we will dock and tie up.

Are kids allowed aboard? Do you provide life jackets?

We provide life jackets and safety equipment for all ages and sizes. Children 12 and under (including infants) are required to wear a life jacket at all times aboard the boat.

Are dogs allowed and is there a pet cleaning fee/deposit?

We love having pups along for the adventure!! We recommend bringing dog life jackets as we do not provide them. We charge a $10 fee to bring a dog on board. Service animals are allowed with no extra fee.

If the weather looks bad can we cancel or reschedule?

Safety is our number one priority. We want to make sure that everybody has a safe and fun experience on the water with us! We do not send boats out in heavy fog, rain or wind over 20 mph sustained. If weather impacts your booking we are happy to reschedule or offer a 100% refund.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you cancel more than 72 hours before your rental time, you will receive a full refund. If you cancel between 24-72 hours before your rental time, you can reschedule or receive a credit for future use. If you cancel less than 24 hours before your rental time or if you do not show up for your rental, there is no refund. Cancellations for inclement weather are provided a 100% refund.

Where can we go with the boats?

The boats must stay in Richardson Bay between Sausalito and Belvedere where it is calm and protected. We provide a map of the boundaries and each boat has a GPS tablet with map overlay and radio system to make sure you know where you are and can contact us. We are available at all times during your outing to answer questions and provide tips and suggestions so you can make the most of your time on the water.

What if we need to use the restroom

The boats do not have restrooms, but you are welcome to come back to the marina at any time to use our restrooms.

How fast do the boats go?

5 mph! It’s the perfect cruising speed and the maximum for all boats in Richardson Bay.

What if I have an issue on the water?

We have a full-time support boat on the water monitoring all of our guests. There is a radio connected to the table in each boat for boats to directly speak with the support staff.

Is there music allowed on the boat?

Yes! We provide bluetooth speakers on each boat.

Is there free parking?

You can park for free between the soccer field and the office building where we have a “park here” sign (see google pin below). From there, please walk towards the marina and we will meet you on the deck overlooking the marina where we have another “meet here” sign. We do not have a physical office yet – we ask you not enter Modern Sailing, a neighboring business with the blue canvas building. Click here for parking map.

Are there coolers on your boats?

Some of our boats (Belvedere and Larkspur) have refrigerators and you can bring a cooler if you wish.

Are the boats heated?

Our premium Belvedere boat has a heater. We can provide blankets for colder days!

If we are running late can we push our time?

Depending on our schedule, we can sometimes accommodate your delay, but if we have a full schedule we may not be able to change your booking.
